Gregory
D. Rose is a graduate of Columbia College's photography
program with a concentration in photojournalism and documentary
photography. Much of his current work focuses on still,
environmental landscapes, which are often void of people,
allowing the viewer to enter the photograph with their
own experiences and reflection. He strives to achieve
a timeless feel to his work through careful framing by
avoiding modern "markers" that might date a
photograph. Gregory's publication credits include the
photograph, Window Dressing, featured on the cover of
the American Book Review's July/August 2002 edition, the
Chicago Tribune, and various book jacket portraits. Gregory's
work has been featured at exhibitions at the BackBurner
Gallery in Chicago, Illinois, the Inverlochy Gallery in
Wellington, New Zealand and the McLean County Arts Center
in Bloomington, Illinois. He has traveled to numerous
locations around the world, including a yearlong trip
to Australia and New Zealand, which afforded Gregory two
of his most memorable experiences- photographing the 2000
Summer Olympic Games in Sydney, and two trips to the Great
Barrier Reef. He currently resides in San Luis Obispo, on California's Central Coast.
